Rules for Reserving
Practice Fields and Cages
· The list of available practice field time slots is maintained in the Master Schedules. Any fields that do not have a game or practice scheduled at a given time are available to be reserved for practice.
· To reserve a field for practice, send an email message to the SPBO Secretary noting the day, time and field that you are requesting as well as your team’s name. Within 48 hours you should receive a response either confirming or denying your request.
· Each team is allowed to reserve one practice field and one cage per week (the baseball week begins on Saturday and ends on Friday). (In the Fall, 2 fields and 2 cages per week may be reserved)
· Field Hog Rule: Fields and cages may only be reserved within 14 days of the desired date. The purpose of this rule is so that a handful of teams do not reserve a field a week for the entire season at the beginning of the season thereby leaving very few available fields remaining for all others. (There are not a lot of open fields and a few teams could easily monopolize what there are without the all important Field Hog Rule)
· 48 Hour Rule: In the event that a practice field or cage is not reserved 48 hours before it's time, it may be reserved by any team including those teams that already have another field reserved within that week.
· NOTE: If a reserved field is requested for a makeup game, the game has priority over the practice and the practice reservation will be withdrawn.
